Common fluorine lined valves include fluorine lined butterfly valves, fluorine lined ball valves, etc. fluorine lined valves rely on the strong acid, alkali, and corrosion resistance of fluoroplastics, and are mostly used in the chemical industry, especially in pipelines with strongly corrosive media.

Butterfly valve

The commonly used valve lining materials currently include synthetic rubber (-10-120 ℃), polytetrafluoroethylene PTEF (-200-180 ℃), soluble polytetrafluoroethylene PFA (-196-260 ℃), and polytetrafluoroethylene F46 (-85-150 ℃). The above is the publicly available limit tolerance temperature for each material. The actual temperature of the medium used varies depending on the material and pressure. The long-term use temperature should usually be around 30% lower than the upper limit. Otherwise, the lining of each component of the valve is prone to deformation, resulting in large leakage or failure of the valve to open and close normally.
The lining material of fluorine lined valves is mostly polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). PTFE material has strong corrosion resistance and can be used in corrosive media such as strong acids and alkalis. At the same time, this material also has certain heat and cold resistance, suitable for temperatures between -196~200 ℃.
Can the temperature resistance of fluorine lined valves reach 200 ℃? The answer is that theoretically, it is possible, but in actual working conditions, the temperature resistance of polytetrafluoroethylene does not represent fluorine lined valves.
We know that valves are consumables, and fluorine lined valves installed and used on pipelines are subject to continuous corrosion and erosion by the medium. The temperature resistance range of PTFE materials mentioned above is only a theoretical value, but in reality, considering factors such as manufacturing process, production environment, and technical level, the temperature resistance of fluorine lined valves themselves cannot reach that high.
According to research analysis and statistics, the operating temperature of fluorine lined valves can reach 180 ℃, or even briefly reach 200 ℃, and generally only reach 150 ℃ on the market.
